Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care for a high-acuity patient population, including ICU-level boarders awaiting inpatient beds
• Monitor and manage patients following complex surgical procedures including kidney transplant, Neuro IR, and bariatric surgery
• Perform frequent neurological assessments and maintain strict hemodynamic and BP parameters for post-procedural patients
• Manage ventilators, vasoactive drips, and invasive monitoring for critically ill patients boarding in the PACU
• Recognize and escalate airway concerns, anesthesia-related complications, and rapid patient deterioration in collaboration with anesthesia and surgical teams
• Provide post-operative care for pediatric patients as part of a mixed-acuity patient population

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Prior PACU experience is required
• ICU background with demonstrated experience managing high-acuity patients (e.g., SICU, Transplant ICU, or Neuro ICU)
• Pediatric nursing experience required
• Proficiency with ventilator management, vasoactive drips, and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Flu vaccine required – no exemptions or exceptions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for post-operative kidney transplant patients, including strict I&O monitoring, electrolyte management, and early identification of graft complications
• Familiarity with post-Neuro IR recovery, including thrombectomy and aneurysm coiling patients, with access site monitoring
• Experience managing bariatric patients post-operatively, with awareness of airway risk, OSA, and respiratory depression
• Comfort with CPAP/BiPAP and reintubation preparation in collaboration with anesthesia
