Registered Nurse Emergency Room

Seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room. The role involves providing care in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in a similar setting. The Emergency Room operates with a general community hospital patient base. Common diagnoses include chest pain, exacerbation of chronic diseases, and psychiatric holds. The unit has a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. Shifts are 12 hours long with a requirement to work every other weekend. Holidays will be rotated with core staff. No triage is performed by agency RNs. All major cases are transported to designated facilities. A charge nurse typically does not take patients but provides break relief. Nurse aides are available as staffing dictates. Self-scheduling is used, and travelers can make themselves available for extra shifts. The charting system utilized is electronic. Floating to other facilities may occur, though mid-shift floats are rare. The position requires familiarity with ventilator care, though vents are not common. The facility provides 24/7 access to pharmacy and respiratory therapy services. Candidates must complete a screening examination before finalizing employment. General community hospital emergency services are focused on patient-centered care.
