Senior Buyer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer with a background in food manufacturing to join our procurement team. This role will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and other production-related supplies while ensuring competitive pricing, reliable supply, and high-quality standards. Responsibilities

• Manage the purchasing of ingredients, raw materials, packaging, and other materials required for production.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and negotiate pricing, terms, contracts, and lead times.
• Monitor supplier performance, including quality, delivery, pricing, and service levels.
• Analyze purchasing data, market trends, and commodity pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete materials.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, R&D, Planning, Warehouse, and Finance teams to ensure uninterrupted supply.
• Issue and manage purchase orders and ensure accurate delivery schedules.
• Identify and mitigate supply-chain risks, including shortages, delays, and supplier capacity constraints.
• Support supplier qualification, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and annual procurement planning.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, food safety requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Lead or participate in strategic sourcing and cost-reduction initiatives.

Skills

• Food Manufacturing Experience (5 years of experience is preferred)
