Electrical Distribution Project Engineer

Location: Hybrid in the following cities:

• Ann Arbor, MI
• Cary, NC
• Orlando, FL

A leading global engineering and consulting firm is seeking an Electrical Distribution Project Engineer to support and lead the delivery of distribution projects across a growing portfolio of infrastructure and technology-driven work.

The Role

In this position, you will:

• Lead and deliver overhead and underground distribution projects (up to 34.5kV) from design through execution
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor to junior engineers and designers
• Manage project performance across scope, budget, schedule, and quality
• Work directly with clients to develop solutions, present designs, and guide project outcomes
• Contribute to project strategy, process improvements, and overall team growth

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering deliverables, calculations, and design packages
• Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements
• Support client communication, project alignment, and issue resolution
• Provide technical leadership on distribution line design and engineering solutions
• Oversee and review work from junior staff while supporting team development

What They're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in distribution engineering (4kV-34.5kV)
• Experience with overhead and/or underground distribution design
• Strong understanding of NESC, NEC, and utility standards
• Experience working with utility clients (IOU experience preferred)
• Ability to manage projects and communicate directly with clients
• PE license preferred (or on track)
