About the Position

Job Title

Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) – Nights

Location

Salem, MA

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | 36 Hours per Week | Night Shift | Every Other Weekend | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, 65-bed pod-based Emergency Department serving approximately 230 visits per day across all patient populations
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, accurate clinical documentation, and patient education in a fast-paced ED environment
• Execute core ED nursing skills including IV insertion, phlebotomy, EKG interpretation, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, and splinting
• Deliver care across specialized areas including a dedicated pediatric pod and an Acute Mental Health area
• Maintain a 1:4 clinician-to-patient ratio while applying strong critical thinking to prioritize and manage patient needs
• Float to other areas within the department as needed and document all care using EPIC – ASAP EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or compact state eligibility
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• Current AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Proficiency with EPIC – ASAP or comparable EMR system
• Demonstrated competency in general ED nursing skills including assessment, IV, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, and splinting

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
• Experience working in a high-census, pod-based Emergency Department setting
