Overview

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the ED for a diverse adult and pediatric population, including triage, initial assessment, and ongoing monitoring.
- Administer medications and IV therapy per physician orders; manage analgesia and appropriate therapies; assist with airway management as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to develop and implement patient care plans; respond to rapid changes in patient condition.
- Perform documentation in the electronic health record; ensure accurate handoffs to receiving units and maintain patient safety and infection control standards.
- May be required to float to adjacent acute units (medical-surgical, step-down, or ICU) to support patient throughput and department needs.
- Apply trauma and ED protocols for high-acuity cases; participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience in a busy, high-acuity environment (level 1 trauma facility experience preferred)
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications are required
- Resume with no gaps, plus an ED skills checklist and ED references
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ED and float to related units as needed
- Demonstrated communication and teamwork skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-stress scenarios
