A critical role is available for a knowledgeable retail pharmacist to support pharmaceutical services in a healthcare setting. This travel position offers the opportunity to ensure patients receive appropriate medications and expert pharmaceutical care aligned with professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescribed medications accurately, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Advise physicians on drug therapy, toxicity, side effects, and dosing to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
• Oversee medication preparation and supervise non-pharmacist pharmacy staff.
• Maintain strong relationships with medical and nursing personnel to support drug information and safe usage.
• Conduct medication reviews, assess patient compliance, and provide patient education on medication use.
• Manage secure storage and inventory control of pharmaceuticals.
• Keep updated with evolving drug knowledge and contribute to relevant policy development.
• Participate in meetings, committees, and mentoring of healthcare trainees.

Qualifications:

• Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school and current state pharmacist license.
• PharmD preferred.
• Minimum of three years retail pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment:

• Indoor, climate-controlled, smoke-free facility.
• Possible exposure to biohazards and hazardous drugs. Annual respirator fitting required for safety.
