Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position in Spokane, Washington. This role involves providing expert care in a high-volume, Level II trauma and pediatric trauma designated short-term acute care facility. The RN will float between units as necessary to support patient needs, with a focus on high-risk obstetric cases including pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, VBAC/TOLAC, labor management, induction, augmentation, and maternal emergencies.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts (12 hours) with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Washington state or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license; at least one year of experience in Labor and Delivery; certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and AWHONN Intermediate.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic charting system, high-risk antepartum care, use of intrauterine pressure catheter (IUPC), central line maintenance (CVC / PICC), anticoagulation therapy, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, assisting with high-risk deliveries, conducting sterile vaginal exams, and managing maternal emergencies.
• Patient Population: Neonates, adolescents, and adults; approximately 200300 facility births per month with an annual delivery volume of about 3,200.
• Unit Details: The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including IV, respiratory, interpretation, radiology, social services, rapid response, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries. The team manages complex cases involving insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, and emergencies like Code Stork.
• Additional Information: The role may require floating to Neonatal Intensive Care Units, Maternal Units, or other units within the facility. Candidates are expected to adhere to all scheduling and float policies as well as compliance documentation deadlines.
