Job Description Department: Stem Cell Biology & Regenerative Medicine Physical work location: 619 West 54 Street, 8th floor, New York, NY 10019 Name PI or Supervisor: Joel Blanchard – View email address on click.appcast.io Qualifications PhD in a relevant field (e.g. neuroscience, cell biology, genetics) 4–5 years of post‑doctoral research experience Strong background in stem cell biology, iPSC‑derived brain models, and neurodegenerative disease research Proficiency in molecular and cellular techniques, omics data analysis, and computational modeling Responsibilities Lead and execute projects that investigate how genetic and environmental factors influence the human brain’s vulnerability to neurodegenerative disease, focusing on Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. Generate and maintain human iPSC‑derived brain organoid and assembloid systems that recapitulate key aspects of brain biology. Investigate genetic risk mechanisms in Alzheimer’s disease (e.g., APOE biology). Study neurovascular and glial contributions to neurodegeneration. Analyze lipid metabolism and metabolic stress in the aging brain. Conduct multi‑omics analysis of human brain tissue and disease models. Integrate experimental data with genomic, computational, and systems‑level approaches to understand disease processes. Collaborate with post‑mortem human brain analysis and mouse model studies to translate mechanistic findings into therapeutic strategies. Compensation The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) offers a salary range of $74,692 – $80,000 annually, in compliance with New York City salary‑transparency law. Actual salaries depend on experience, education, and operational needs. The salary range does not include bonuses, incentive, differential pay, or other benefits.
