Personal Injury Legal Assistant

Job Description Job Description A well established personal injury law firm seeks a qualified legal assistant to join their busy Columbia office.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Intakes and organizes case files for new and existing clients
Maintains case management system by uploading all client documents
Keeps clients informed on a regular basis by maintaining contact with client; communicating case progress
Supports case preparation by preparing case summaries and materials for mediation conferences, preparing pleadings, etc.
Monitor and obtain discovery responses
Request records, bills and reports
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years experience as a legal assistant or case manager
Able to step into an active caseload
Personal Injury experience; Workers' Compensation is a plus
Experience using a case management system
Strong Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Ability to manage a large caseload in a fast-paced environment
Strong ability to multi-task and strong organizational skills
Strong client/colleague communication skills
Positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
Fluent in Spanish a plus
