Job Description

·       Evaluates and treats patients with different diagnosis in accordance with physician’s orders.

·       Initiates skilled occupational therapy treatments in accordance with physician’s orders.

·       Supervises occupational therapy assistants and rehab technicians.

·       Completes and maintains documentations such as evaluations, progress notes, daily notes, recertifications, and discharge summaries for patients on caseload.

·       Identify and meet patients’ goals and needs.

·       Provides quality, personalized and evidence-based care, and proven interventions.

·       Consults and practices with other health professionals regarding special needs of patients to enhance rehabilitation or maintenance of function.

·       Provides input for the Care Planning meetings and attends during absences of the DOR.

·       Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor, management staff or Administrator.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an approved school of occupational therapy required.

• New York State license to practice Occupational Therapy required or eligible to take the boards.

• New grads welcome

• Interest in occupational therapy treatment programs for the geriatric and subacute populations necessary.
