Position Detail:

Job Title: Accounting Manager

Location: Philadelphia, PA 19103/Riverwoods IL 60015

Duration: 6+ month contract with possible extn/conversion

Schedule: Hybrid work schedule (2-3 days onsite)

Pay rate: $60-65/hr

Summary:

This pivotal role offers the opportunity to oversee critical accounting operations, drive process improvements, and ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting in a fast-paced, hybrid environment. With a focus on team leadership and technical excellence, you'll be instrumental in supporting the company's growth and financial integrity.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (BBA or BS); Master's preferred
• CPA certification or progress toward certification strongly preferred
• 7-9 years of accounting or audit experience, including 2-3 years in a managerial role
• Recent hands-on experience managing core general ledger functions: month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and audit support
• Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Great Plains, NetSuite, and Blackline
• Advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with international accounting processes
• Project management experience
• Familiarity with accelerated month-end close timelines (3–5 days)

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's degree highly desirable
• Professional CPA certification or ongoing certification effort
• 7-9 years of relevant accounting or audit experience, with recent managerial oversight
• Experience managing teams responsible for general ledger functions, preferably within a hybrid or remote setting

• Willingness to support process improvements and perform independent analysis
• Flexibility during month-end close cycles and reporting deadlines
