Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantWe are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end and year-end close, and supporting financial reporting. The ideal candidate is analytical, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post journal entries.Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records as needed.Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation.Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.Prepare sales tax, payroll, and other regulatory filings as required.Support the accounting team with special projects and process improvements.Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.2–5 years of accounting experience preferred.Strong understanding of GAAP.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Experience with accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics) preferred.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to manage deadlines and maintain confidentiality.CPA certification or progress toward CPA is a plus.Smart Care is a national repair and service provider for commercial foodservice, refrigeration, and cold storage equipment.
