Part time Science Teacher

Position Title: Part-Time Science Teacher Reports To: Principal or Academic Dean Position Type: Part-Time (11–15 hours per week) Position Summary The Part-Time Science Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based science instruction while fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry. The teacher will create a positive learning environment that supports student growth and encourages a love of science. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and deliver effective science instruction aligned with school curriculum and academic standards. Teach assigned science courses, which may include General Science, Physical Science, Biology, Environmental Science, or other science subjects as assigned. Develop lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials that accommodate diverse learning needs. Create an engaging classroom environment that promotes student participation and achievement. Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback to students and parents. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance. Incorporate hands‑on activities, laboratory experiences, and instructional technology to enhance learning. Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student success. Attend required faculty meetings and professional development activities as appropriate for a part‑time position. Maintain classroom safety and uphold school policies and procedures. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field required. Valid teaching certification in Science preferred. Previous middle or high school teaching experience preferred. Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Commitment to creating an inclusive and student‑centered learning environment. Schedule This is a part-time position requiring approximately 11–15 hours per week.
