New admittees with strong litigation internship or clerkship experience are welcome to apply — we value potential as much as tenure.The ideal candidate is an independent thinker who communicates clearly, manages their docket proactively, and is eager to develop their skills alongside experienced trial attorneys across a variety of matters.Firm Practice AreasBusiness & Corporate LawReal Estate LawAdministrative LawTrusts & Estate PlanningBusiness LitigationCivil LitigationInsurance DefensePrimary ResponsibilitiesHandle insurance defense matters, including personal injury, premises liability, automobile accidents, and general liabilityDraft and respond to written discovery, motions, and pleadingsConduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and expertsAppear at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trialsCommunicate effectively with insurance carrier clients and claims adjusters regarding case strategy and reserve recommendationsConduct legal research and prepare case evaluations and status reportsManage litigation deadlines and maintain accurate billing records in case management softwareCollaborate with partners and senior associates on litigation strategyQualificationsJuris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law schoolActive Nevada law license — or eligibility to sit for the Nevada Bar (new admittees welcome)Experience in insurance defense, civil litigation, or a related litigation internship/clerkshipFamiliarity with depositions, written discovery, and motion practiceExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong organizational skills and ability to manage a high-volume caseloadProficiency with legal practice management software (Clio experience a plus)Collaborative mindset and team-oriented work stylePreferred QualificationsExperience appearing in Nevada state and federal courtsFamiliarity with Nevada insurance regulations and coverage issuesPrior clerkship or internship with an insurance defense or civil litigation firmCompensation & BenefitsBlack & Graf offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including:Base salary of $95,000–$130,000, commensurate with experience and qualificationsHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement planPaid time off and firm holidaysProfessional development and mentorship opportunitiesApplications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
