Location: El Paso, TX 79936

Industry: Manufacturing

Shifts: 1st Shift (Monday through Friday starting at 6:00 AM, with end times varying based on workload)

Onsite Flexibility: 100% onsite

Pay Rate: $12/hr.

 

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking General Laborer to support operations at a retail distribution center. This position involves unloading trailers, scanning and sorting merchandise, and building pallets for shipment to retail stores. The employee must be able to stand and perform physical work for most of the shift.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Safely unload merchandise from trailers.
• Scan products using handheld scanning equipment.
• Sort merchandise according to store, department, or destination.
• Build stable and organized pallets for distribution.
• Wrap, label, and prepare completed pallets for shipment.
• Move products and pallets to designated staging areas.
• Follow safety procedures and proper lifting techniques.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Meet productivity and accuracy expectations.
• Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.

 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
• Ability to frequently bend, reach, lift, push, and pull.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Willingness to work around moving equipment and varying temperatures.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse or general labor experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to use or learn handheld scanners.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, or holidays when needed.

Skills/Qualifications: Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Ability to read blueprints. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. If required, must possess or be able to obtain the necessary equipment operation certification or licenses. Prior experience operating equipment and machinery in a transportation, warehousing, or manufacturing setting desired but not required.

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Forklift operator’s license may be required. Commercial driving license may be required.
