Job Description Job Description Machinist Ready to take the next step in your career? Automation Personnel Services is currently seeking an experienced Machinist for a company located in Baytown, TX. The ideal candidate will have experience in setting up, operating, and maintaining machine tools to produce metal and non-metal parts. Pay Rate $25.00 per hour Schedule and Hours Monday through Friday 7:00 am until 4:30 pm. Machinist Duties and Responsibilities Set up and operate manual machine tools, including lathes, drill press, grinders, and other equipment. Read and interpret work orders and specifications. Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators. Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine settings to achieve required tolerances. Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards. Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issues to supervisors. Troubleshoot machining and production problems to minimize downtime. Maintain accurate production and quality records. Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Keep work areas clean and organized. Collaborate with supervisors and quality personnel to improve processes and productivity. Machinist Qualifications and Requirements 2+ years of machining experience preferred. Knowledge of machining principles, tooling, cutting speeds, and feeds. Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and quality. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently lift and move materials up to 50 pounds. (test administered in office) Manual dexterity to operate machinery and measuring equipment. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, vibration, and metalworking fluids. Required use of safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed footwear, and other PPE as needed. May require overtime, weekend work on production demands.
