Position Overview
The Business Planning Manager leads strategic planning, organizational development, service development, and continuous improvement initiatives across KANA. Working closely with Executive Leadership and department leaders, this position supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic initiatives that strengthen organizational performance and improve community impact.
This role serves as a strategic advisor and facilitator, helping transform organizational priorities into actionable plans while building strong partnerships with Tribal organizations, community stakeholders, government agencies, and healthcare partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead organization-wide strategic planning and implementation initiatives.
- Partner with Executive Leadership to identify strategic priorities and organizational opportunities.
- Coordinate the planning, execution, and evaluation of strategic projects and organizational initiatives.
- Conduct market research, community needs assessments, and organizational analyses to support informed decision-making.
- Prepare business cases, feasibility studies, implementation plans, presentations, and executive reports.
- Support the development of new programs, services, and organizational partnerships.
- Lead organizational development and change management initiatives that improve collaboration, communication, and operational effectiveness.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, planning sessions, and cross-functional workgroups.
- Monitor strategic initiative progress, evaluate outcomes, and recommend improvements using organizational metrics and performance data.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Tribal partners, community organizations, funding agencies, healthcare organizations, and government entities.
- Promote continuous improvement and alignment with KANA's strategic plan across departments.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Development, Community Development, or a related field.
- Five years of progressively responsible professional experience in strategic planning, organizational development, healthcare administration, program development, project implementation, service development, organizational improvement, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical, organizational, facilitation, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership, multidisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders.
Preferred
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Professional certification in strategic planning, project management, business analysis, organizational development, change management, Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement.
- Experience working with Tribal organizations, healthcare systems, nonprofit organizations, or community development initiatives.

Work Schedule
KANA's standard full-time work schedule consists of 37.5 paid working hours per week, with 7.5 paid working hours per day plus a one-hour unpaid lunch break (8.5 hours on site each day).
