Workers’ Compensation Specialist II Locations: Redmond, Oregon and Longview, Texas Compensation: $71,622–$87,538 annually Incentives: 10% annual bonus target plus 18% long-term incentive target Work Environment: On-site, full-time, exempt About the Opportunity HireIQ Solutions is leading the search for two Workers’ Compensation Specialists to join a growing, multi-site manufacturing organization. One position will be based in Redmond, Oregon, and the other in Longview, Texas. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys working directly with employees and taking ownership of the workers’ compensation process from initial reporting through return to work and claim resolution. You will serve as the primary on‑site resource for workplace injuries, supporting employees while keeping claims, documentation, modified‑duty assignments, and carrier communication moving forward. The position combines office‑based claims administration with a visible presence on the manufacturing floor. The right person will be organized, approachable, comfortable having difficult conversations, and able to work effectively with employees at every level of the organization. Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills are strongly preferred for both locations and are especially important for the Redmond position due to the workforce population at that facility. What You’ll Do Manage the day‑to‑day administration of workers’ compensation claims in a fully insured environment. Serve as the primary on‑site contact for employees experiencing workplace injuries. Coordinate claim activity with employees, supervisors, medical providers, insurance carriers, adjusters, and third‑party administrators. Ensure injuries and claims are reported promptly and required documentation is collected and submitted accurately. Maintain regular communication with injured employees regarding appointments, work status, documentation, timekeeping, and return‑to‑work expectations. Walk the production floor regularly to check in with employees working under medical restrictions or modified‑duty assignments. Coordinate return‑to‑work programs and help develop appropriate modified‑duty plans with management and medical providers. Conduct thorough incident and claim investigations, including reviewing available video, gathering witness statements, interviewing involved employees, and compiling information for the insurance carrier. Monitor claim progress and work with external partners to address delays, documentation gaps, or complex cases. Maintain accurate and confidential claim records, work‑status reports, wage information, job‑function evaluations, and related documentation. Partner closely with plant leadership, supervisors, Human Resources, Safety, Employee Relations, Payroll, Legal, and other internal teams. Provide employees and leaders with guidance on reporting procedures, responsibilities, and workers’ compensation expectations. Review claim activity and identify trends, process improvements, preventive measures, and opportunities to reduce costs. Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local workers’ compensation requirements. What We’re Looking For The organization is open to candidates from workers’ compensation, claims, human resources, employee relations, leave administration, benefits, insurance, or related backgrounds. Direct workers’ compensation experience is valuable, but the hiring team is also willing to train someone who brings the right communication style, judgment, and ability to operate effectively in a manufacturing environment. Preferred qualifications include: Three or more years of experience in workers’ compensation, claims administration, human resources, employee relations, leave management, insurance, or a related area. An associate’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field; a bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. General familiarity with workers’ compensation processes, insurance‑carrier coordination, or workplace investigations. Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills, particularly for the Redmond position. Experience working in manufacturing, industrial operations, distribution, construction, or another employee‑intensive environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple active claims and competing priorities. The confidence to establish expectations, maintain appropriate boundaries, and handle sensitive or difficult conversations professionally. Sound judgment and discretion when working with confidential employee and medical information. Strong written and verbal communication skills across plant‑floor employees, supervisors, leadership, and external partners. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn claims‑management or workers’ compensation systems. A workers’ compensation certification, such as CWCP, is helpful but not required. Work Environment This is an on‑site position requiring regular interaction with employees throughout a manufacturing facility. The role includes frequent exposure to the production floor and requires the use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Candidates should be able to sit or stand for extended periods, work at a computer, walk through production areas, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Some travel, extended hours, or after‑hours availability may be required in response to urgent workplace incidents. Compensation The anticipated base salary range is $71,622 to $87,538, depending on experience and qualifications. The compensation package also includes: 10% annual bonus target 18% annual long‑term incentive target Both incentive percentages are calculated using the employee’s base salary and are paid annually, subject to applicable plan terms.
