Medical Office Assistant | Cardiology Center | Frederick, MD

We have an opportunity with a well-established cardiology practice in Frederick, MD, supporting a busy and patient-focused healthcare team. This role is ideal for someone with strong patient service experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced clinical environment and wants to further develop their healthcare administration skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff
• Answer and route calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient communications
• Register patients, verify insurance information, and collect necessary documentation
• Prepare patients for appointments and ensure accurate chart documentation
• Coordinate and obtain diagnostic results prior to patient visits
• Maintain patient records, appointment schedules, and departmental documentation
• Assist with room turnover and support office operations as needed
• Follow up with patients and communicate updates to providers

What We're Looking For:

• 2+ years of healthcare or medical office experience
• Familiarity with Epic, EMR/EHR systems, and medical terminology
• Experience with insurance verification and patient registration
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Frederick, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
