Summary Our mission is to enforce the law, defend U.S. interests, provide federal leadership in crime prevention, seek just punishment for unlawful behavior, and administer laws fairly and impartially for all Americans. Location Orlando, Florida. Duties Assist the U.S. Attorney's Office, Middle District of Florida, in the Criminal Division, representing the U.S. Government in a wide range of unique and complex cases. Responsibilities Responsibilities will increase and become more complex with training and experience. Additional positions may be filled using this announcement. Security Requirements Initial appointment conditioned upon satisfactory preemployment adjudication, including fingerprint, credit, tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment subject to favorable background investigation. Residency Requirements Must reside in the district to which appointed or within 25 miles thereof. Selective Service Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must register with Selective Service. Requirements United States Citizen or National. Registered for Selective Service if applicable. J.D. degree or equivalent, active member of a U.S. bar by entry on duty date. Law school graduates or current law students taking the July 2026 bar may be considered. Must reside within the district or 25 miles. Qualifications Applicants must possess a J.D. degree or equivalent, active U.S. bar membership, and U.S. citizenship. Preferred Qualifications Excellent academic credentials. At least three years litigation experience. Computer literate. Superior oral and written communication skills. Strong character and interpersonal skills. Capacity to work with minimal guidance in a highly demanding environment. Strong commitment to public service. Education J.D. Degree by Enter on Duty (EOD) date. Salary Information Base pay range: $76,748 to $197,100 , including 17.06% locality pay, administratively determined by years of professional attorney experience.
