Department 36625 Carolinas Rehabilitation: Charlotte - Therapy: Adult Inpatient Services Status Full time Benefits Eligible Yes Hours Per Week 40 Schedule Track position Tuesday‑Saturday or Sunday‑Thursday with 3 weekends off per quarter. Primary therapist carries a caseload of 5‑6 oncology patients. Pay Range $35.50 – $53.25 per hour Preferred Experience Oncology rehabilitation experience. Inpatient rehabilitation experience. Job Description Evaluates, plans, directs and administers programs of Occupational Therapy in an inpatient acute level setting upon referral by the physician. Plans and conducts OT programs to restore function, prevent disability, and help patients reach maximum independence. Supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants, Rehab Technicians, volunteers, and students. Essential Functions Provides direct therapy services to patients admitted to a level of care requiring 7 days a week service, including holidays (acute care, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing facility). Evaluates patients, selects and administers assessment techniques, synthesizes information to establish an appropriate patient care plan including modalities, procedures, exercise programs, therapeutic groups, and education based on a holistic view of diagnosis, condition, age, and discharge needs. Gathers and interprets data from the medical record, physician reports, patient, and/or family as evidenced by documentation. Communicates patient evaluation and progress to physician, referral sources, and other clinical staff; coordinates treatment programs and discharge planning; recommends solutions to patient‑care problems. Documents evaluations, tests, progress notes, daily treatment notes, attendance records, patient/family education, outcomes, discharge notes, and charges. Physical Requirements Sitting, standing, walking throughout the day; climbing stairs, kneeling, twisting, bending, crouching, crawling, reaching overhead. Lifting up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally. Lateral patient transfers of 100 pounds rarely. Ability to demonstrate exercise and activities to patients and caregivers. Use of personal protective equipment (gloves, goggles, gowns, masks) as required. Work in a fast‑paced clinical environment, primarily indoors with occasional outdoor exposure. Education, Experience, and Certifications Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy required. Active state license for occupational therapy required. BLS certification required per policy guidelines.
