Now Hiring: Equipment Operators Heart of Florida Landfill
We are currently seeking experienced, safety-conscious Equipment Operators to join our team at Heart of Florida Landfill. Prior landfill or waste experience is a big plus, but we're willing to train the right candidate who brings a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Schedule: 5am-4:30pm and 7am-6:30pm | MondayFriday with occasional Saturdays Hours: 4555 hours per week Pay: $24$26+ per hour DOE
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance around the site and facility
- Spread and compact trash using a Compactor
- Apply daily cover using a Dozer
- Excavate soil with an Excavator
- Haul soil as needed
Working Conditions
- Outdoor landfill environment
- Work near moving mechanical parts
- Exposure to wet/humid conditions, vibration, fumes, or airborne particles
- Clean, well-lit, and ventilated areas
What We're Looking For
- Experience operating a forklift, dozer, or articulated dump truck preferred
- Ability to learn and safely operate site-specific equipment independently
- Willingness to follow PPE requirements and safety protocols
- Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to take on new responsibilities
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
