Security Team Leader

Security Team Leader – Responsibilities The Security Team Leader reports to the Building Security Manager and provides front‑line supervision and direction to security personnel. Key duties include deployment and oversight of staff, enforcement of security policies and procedures, and compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Specific Responsibilities Supervise security personnel, including hiring, training, coaching, and counseling staff. Perform administrative functions such as scheduling, time‑card management, reports, and credential issuance. Investigate and compile incident reports for Security management. Coach and counsel staff, recommend corrective actions when necessary. Monitor security cameras, ensuring proper function and unobstructed view. Patrol venue and campus to maintain a safe environment; observe and report unusual activities. Assist with ejection or control of unruly, disruptive or intoxicated guests. Develop and implement preventive measures against accidental, theft, and other risks. Monitor entry and access points, screen employees, visitors, guests, and vendors. Escort visitors at event and non‑event days as needed. Respond immediately to fire control panels, acknowledge alarms, and reset alarms. Provide first‑aid support and respond to medical situations, calling EMT/medical personnel when required. Maintain logs and forms, documenting activities and incidents accurately. Deliver high‑level customer service to employees, visitors, guests, and vendors. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; preference for business‑related college coursework. Minimum 3 years of security experience, with progression into advanced supervisory roles. Proficiency in MS Office or Google Workspace and security‑type software applications. Ability to maintain composure while handling multiple tasks in high‑pressure situations. Strong leadership skills and confidence to give clear direction and constructive feedback. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours. Ready to stand prolonged periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Physical Requirements Patrolling on foot: ability to walk and stand for extended periods, including over uneven terrain. Patrolling by bicycle: balance, lower‑body strength, and cardiovascular endurance for extended periods. Standing: maintain upright posture and endurance without excessive fatigue. Sitting: maintain seated posture, alertness, and attention. Climbing stairs: lower‑body strength and balance to ascend and descend stairs. General: adequate vision, hearing, communication skills, ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs, and dexterity for equipment use. Environment: work indoors in climate‑controlled settings and outdoors in varying temperatures, rain, wind, noise, vibrations, and potential hazards such as crowds and emergency situations.
