Within the Environmental Services department—closely integrated with Facilities and Ancillary Services—the Director Hospital Environmental Services will guide a mature program that supports a 24/7 enterprise spanning ORs, ICUs, procedural areas, EDs, and clinics, delivering consistent, survey-ready standards across terminal cleaning, ICRA protocols, isolation workflows, and high-reliability practices; this unit powers rapid OR turnover, ED throughput, and HCAHPS gains for a 600+ bed acute care hospital, maintains readiness as a level III trauma center, sustains consecutive “A” Hospital Safety Grades from The Leapfrog Group, and partners with top-tier trauma and cardiac care teams to protect patient safety and staff wellbeing across every square foot.

Reporting to a seasoned Vice President of Support Services or Operations, the Director Environmental Safety will lead managers, supervisors, educators, and specialists across housekeeping, floor care, waste and linen, sustainability, and vendor contracts, owning strategy, staffing models, budgets, capital planning, and regulatory readiness for Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, and state requirements; this Director Facilities caliber role will drive Lean process improvement, audit rigor, AHE best practices, competency-based training, and customer service standards in close collaboration with friendly nurses and a diverse interdisciplinary team—clinical leaders, infection preventionists, perioperative services, facilities engineering, supply chain, and quality—to achieve elite safety, experience, and efficiency outcomes.
