Patients with complex rhythm disorders need a physician who diagnoses precisely, treats decisively, and stays accountable for what happens after the procedure. This role exists to build a reliable electrophysiology service: shorter time from referral to definitive therapy, stronger procedural outcomes, and fewer avoidable returns to the hospital. Success is measured in safer rhythms and a program referring physicians trust.
Performance Objectives

• Cut median time from referral to ablation or device therapy by redesigning the consult-to-procedure pathway.
• Perform ablation, implant, and extraction cases with complication rates at or below national benchmarks.
• Grow appropriate atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and device volume without trading away success or safety.
• Close complex cases in multidisciplinary review so each patient leaves with a documented plan in one visit cycle.
• Raise lab on-time starts and utilization with cardiology, imaging, anesthesia, and scheduling.
• Deliver one practice-changing quality result each year, using local outcome data.
• Develop advanced practice providers and trainees so coverage expands without a drop in quality.

Environment and Resources

You join an established cardiology service with dedicated electrophysiology lab time, mapping and recording systems, a device clinic, and an experienced nursing and technologist team. You report to the cardiology service leader, with quality analytics, scheduling support, and a defined process for lab technology. Protected time covers clinic, documentation, and program work.
Essential Qualifications

• MD or DO, board-certified or board-eligible in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
• Eligible for medical licensure and hospital privileges for invasive electrophysiology procedures.
• Independent experience in catheter ablation and cardiac implantable electronic devices.
• Outcome data you can discuss: success, complications, or a completed quality project.
• A record of working effectively with cardiology, emergency care, and referring clinicians.
