Part-Time position, approximately 8-12 hours/week
Set days Monday and Thursday; an additional weekday as needed, and rare weekends/evenings
Approximate shift 10 am – 2 or 3 pm
Hourly pay between $24 and $30 per hour, depending on experience

About us:
Mount Eden Vineyards is a small historic wine estate perched at 2000 feet overlooking Silicon Valley in the Santa Cruz Mountain Appellation, about 50 miles south of San Francisco. Founded in 1945, it is recognized as one of the original “boutique” California winery properties, focusing on small lots of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Mount Eden’s lineage of estate bottled Chardonnay and Pinot Noir is the longest in California. Planted in austere, infertile Franciscan shale on a cool, exposed mountaintop, these low-yielding estate vineyards have consistently produced world-class wines for almost 80 years.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a part-time Office Associate to join our team. This individual will be an essential utility player at our estate by supporting administrative and sales processes while also providing exceptional service to our guests in person and by phone/email. Organization, communication, and time management skills are essential. The ability to multi-task and be a team player is also imperative. Experience in the wine industry is preferred, and an interest in wine and occasionally hosting wine tastings would be exceptional. You will report to the Director of Operations.

Office Support
-Bookkeeping duties: order entry, payables entry, credit card entry, invoice entry, etc.
-Assist with reporting and compliance (tax returns, license renewals, etc.)
-Answer telephone & emails in an appropriate and timely manner
-Filing & general office organization
-Office and Tasting room maintenance: Light cleaning, sweeping/vacuuming, and dusting
-Book tasting appointments
-Become familiar with Mount Eden’s wholesale sale program, assisting as directed
-Additional clerical projects as assigned by the Management team
-Gain proficiency in all relevant software, including Centerpoint, Nexternal, Engage, and Tock

Tasting room and Wine Club assistance- occasional and as directed
-Stock wine and maintain adequate inventory in tasting room storage
- Assist with twice-yearly wine club shipments, including packing and assisting with pick-ups.
- Assist with new club membership signups, profile updates, receiving and fulfilling orders, and general customer communications, including but not limited to: weather holds, credit card issues, etc.
- Occasionally assist in stocking, packaging & shipping wine orders
-Assist with organizing and executing consumer events as directed
-Must develop knowledge of the Santa Cruz Mountains appellation, as well as California regions in general.

REQUIREMENTS*:

-At least two years of current office and accounting experience
-Ability to work in both a collaborative team environment and independently
-Proactive, reliable, incredible attention to detail
-Exceptional customer service skills both over the phone and in person
-Willingness to be adaptable and take on projects not listed above
-Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint
-Must be able to comfortably lift 45 lbs. (case of wine)
-Must be able to stand for an extended period of time
-Must be available to work occasional weekends
-Must have reliable transportation
-Must be at least 21 years old

This position requires obtaining a Responsible Beverage Service Certification within 2 weeks of hire date. Mount Eden will compensate for online training- if not already completed.
