Lead Pharmacist

Entity: Owensboro Health Regional Hospital | Department: Pharmacy Outpatient Henderson | Work Hours: Variable | Weekend Requirements: As Needed | 1.0 FTE Job Summary: Leads the daily operations of the Pharmacy to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. Job Responsibilities May determine, coordinate, and supervise daily staffing assignments. Maintains workflows for assigned area throughout the shift ensuring all assigned work is completed and/or transitioned appropriately to the next shift. Addresses staff performance in real time where necessary. Managing purchasing and inventory. Provides leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Assists with performance evaluations and corrective actions. Assesses quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with department and organization policies, procedures, and protocols. Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels. Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints. Identifies and solves problems in coordination with department leadership. Effectively delegates tasks and responsibilities when appropriate. Identify and resolve conflicts within their department and involve department leadership as needed. Leads and adapts to departmental changes, communicating during transitions affecting their area and encourages team members in their area. Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Position Requirements Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience as determined by the organization. Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Pharmacy required upon hire. Licensure/Certification/Registration: R.Ph. - Licensed as a Pharmacist in the state of Kentucky required upon hire.
