Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician performs intermediate-level equipment, facility, and grounds maintenance activities with increased independence and technical proficiency. This role applies working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment with minimal supervision. The technician is responsible for independently completing preventive maintenance, supporting corrective maintenance, assisting with equipment troubleshooting, and providing guidance to Maintenance Technician employees, while continuing to expand technical capabilities and contribute to reliability and continuous improvement efforts.Key Accountabilities | Results Expected To AchieveSupport organizational goals for safety, quality, cost, and deliveryPerform maintenance tasks independently and in accordance with company standardsContribute to increased equipment uptime through effective troubleshooting and corrective maintenanceMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work areaFollow all safety policies and promptly report hazards or issuesKey Responsibilities | Tasks You Do To Achieve The AccountabilitiesFollow safety guidelines and participate in housekeeping and continuous improvement activities such as 5SFollow lockout/tagout and energy control procedures and ensure compliance during maintenance activitiesPerform routine/intermediate-level equipment, facility, and safety inspections with accurate documentationIndependently perform PM tasks, including component replacement, adjustments, and functional checksPerform cleaning, lubrication, inspection, and adjustment tasks, correcting issues within skill levelEnter completed work orders and maintenance activities into the maintenance management systemPerform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs with limited supervisionTroubleshoot equipment issues and assist with root cause identification to prevent recurrenceIdentify abnormal equipment conditions and coordinate appropriate corrective actionsUse hand tools, power tools, diagnostic meters, and testing equipment safely and effectivelySupport emergency and unscheduled maintenance activities and respond to equipment breakdownsRead, interpret, and apply equipment manuals, diagrams, schematics, and work instructionsDeliver clear technical updates and repair summaries, tailoring communication to the appropriate audienceProperly issue, return, label, and store maintenance parts, tools, and materials and document usageAccurately document parts usage, shortages, or discrepancies in the maintenance management systemAssist in training and providing guidance to Maintenance Technician team membersDevelop increasing familiarity with specialized equipment and facility systemsMaintain professionalism and work collaboratively with team members, vendors, and other departmentsPerform other related duties as assigned based on business needsMaintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools, carts, parts storage, and work areasRequirementsQualities for SuccessDemonstrates Arrow Finishing Core Values: People, Excellence, Integrity, Communication, and InnovationHigh school diploma or GED equivalentMust be a U.S. Citizen or have a current Green Card2–4 years of maintenance experience or equivalent technical trainingWorking knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsAbility to troubleshoot equipment issues with minimal supervisionBasic understanding of PLCs, sensors, and automated systems preferredProficient computer skills for CMMS, email, and documentationAbility to balance workload effectively and maintain organizationAbility to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and proceduresAbility to work collaboratively, communicate professionally, and support peersDependable, punctual, and flexible with work hours and overtime as neededMotivated self-starter capable of working independently on assigned tasksPhysical RequirementsLift up to 50 lbs on a continuous basis and up to 70 lbs periodicallyAbility to use hand tools requiring using fine dexterity and precisionStand, sit or walk for 8 to 10 hours as business requiresStooping, bending, and walking with up to 50 lbs throughout workdayAbility to withstand odors and high decibel soundsAble to walk, stand, climb, sit, kneel, stoop, bend, driveAble to climb a ladder up to a 20' elevationAble to lift and carry up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis, including lifting at shoulder level or aboveThe mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.Work EnvironmentThis position is based on the production floor and involves working near moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, and industrial chemicals.
