Accounting Assistant

Comfort Systems USA - Shoffner is the leader in performing a wide range of services, including the design, fabrication and installation of quality commercial/industrial heating and air conditioning, stainless and sheet metal fabrication, and plumbing work plus complete ongoing maintenance services throughout Tennessee, Virginia, and the Carolinas.

We are seeking a highly motivated Accounting Assistant to join our Accounts Payable team in our Blountville, TN office. The ideal candidate is a dependable, organized, productive team player with the ability to work well with others. The candidate must also possess oral and written communication skills and basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office.

Pay: $19 - $21 per hour, depending on experience.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable invoice coding and entry into accounting system
• Interacting with purchasing personnel to resolve PO and invoice discrepancies
• Interacting with vendors to resolve accounts payable issues
• Maintaining necessary information to set up accounts with new vendors
• Maintaining subcontractor and vendor compliance such as W9s and certificates of insurance
• Reconciling vendor statements routinely
• Assisting management with other miscellaneous accounting matters as needed

Qualifications:

• Business/Accounting degree or 2+ years of experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of math and basic accounting principles.
• Organization and time management skills.
• Microsoft Office experience; Excel formulas, sorting and filtering functions.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to learn.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain a positive, cooperative and teachable attitude.
• Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening.
