Responsibilities What You’ll Do as a Fleet Supervisor As a Fleet Supervisor at Lewis Services, you’ll oversee fleet mechanics and day-to-day fleet operations while helping ensure vehicles and equipment are safe, reliable, available, and maintained cost-effectively. You’ll bring strong knowledge of the vehicle and equipment service industry, commercial fleet rules and regulations, and work closely with employees and management to optimize equipment utilization, reduce idle equipment, and support asset disposal recommendations. This position has supervisory responsibility. Supervise fleet mechanics and other fleet department employees at one or multiple garage locations. Ensure fleet vehicles and garages comply with applicable safety regulations and are managed to high safety standards. Actively support Lewis Services’ goal of zero injuries every day. Ensure fleet vehicles are safe, reliable, and available. Ensure financial targets are met for each garage and vehicle. Ensure maintenance, repairs, and replacements are completed on time and cost-effectively. Develop technicians and mechanics to improve productivity. Ensure work orders are completed accurately and correctly. Provide support to clients across various lines of business and departments. Maintain strong relationships with clients, union leaders, and employees. Lead garage employees and develop working leaders. Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and employment laws, regulations, and company policies. Oversee the productivity and accountability of personnel and contractors, as well as the materials and supplies required to maintain the fleet. Respond to emergency requests from other divisions or regions by providing personnel and equipment support for storm response. Audit and report to management on the ability and quality of employees and vendors to complete maintenance and repairs in alignment with company standards. Evaluate equipment condition and performance in relation to its application and lifecycle. Support field operations and service vendors with warranty recoveries, technical information, qualified vendor sourcing, and dispute resolution. Serve as the lead contact for technical information related to major equipment repairs and modifications. Produce and compile information and report data used by management to evaluate ongoing fleet needs and trends. Qualifications What You Bring: Associate’s degree in a technical field required. 5+ years of automotive or fleet technical experience. 3+ years of managerial or supervisory experience required. Demonstrated strong leadership skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering technology and vehicle-related subjects; mechanical engineering certification or degree preferred. Detail-oriented and investigative skills. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to accurately interpret and analyze documents. Ability to effectively engage and interact with operations. Knowledge of basic accounting principles. Ability to embrace change and focus on process improvements. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and training skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork. Agile and adaptable in fast-paced environments with moderate to high levels of stress. Preferred Bachelor’s degree preferred. 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. Advanced certifications preferred, including CDL, State Inspector License, and various ASE certifications. Physical Demands Ability To Regularly stand, walk, sit for extended periods, reach, and perform repetitive keystrokes. Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs, and lift or move up to 25 pounds. Travel regularly, including overnight stays via ground and/or air transportation. Atención al detalle y habilidades de investigación. Excelentes habilidades de organización y capacidad para trabajar de manera independiente con supervisión mínima. Capacidad para interpretar y analizar documentos con precisión. Capacidad para interactuar eficazmente con las operaciones. Conocimiento de principios básicos de contabilidad.
