The Project Accountant manages the financial aspects of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role partners closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to monitor budgets, analyze financial performance, and deliver actionable insights to support project success. What You'll Do Financial Management & Reporting Serve as the financial liaison for assigned projects, supporting Project Management with accurate and timely reporting. Oversee project accounting activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and tracking actual costs against budgets. Prepare detailed financial reports on project performance in alignment with accounting standards. Manage project-related billing processes and perform reconciliations. Financial Analysis Analyze project costs, identify variances, and provide detailed explanations to stakeholders. Compile and evaluate financial data to support operational decision-making. Perform return-on-investment analyses for capital expenditures and provide recommendations. Compliance & Process Improvement Ensure all project financial activities adhere to company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements. Evaluate and improve project accounting processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Risk Management Identify financial risks associated with projects and recommend mitigation strategies. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Partner with project managers and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making. Communicate with customers regarding billing, costs, and audit requests. Represent the organization professionally, upholding high standards of integrity and ethics. High level of integrity and professionalism in all interactions. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Demonstrated Accomplishments Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for financial analysis and reporting. Strong understanding of project accounting principles and practices. Knowledge of financial accounting concepts and methodologies. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in project accounting or a related financial role. What You'll Get Working Conditions: The majority of the time you will work in a typical office environment. Occasionally, you may travel to a construction job site. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space. You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day. Benefits Overview: IME provides an industry-leading comprehensive benefits package. Compensation Range The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $85,000.00/Yr. - USD $115,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
