The Legal Assistant (litigation/civil process/collections) will operate within a department that focuses on docket prep, filing court work of behalf of clients for delinquent balances owed, and managing essential administrative tasks within a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. This role demands a highly motivated and organized professional who excels at multitasking while maintaining confidentiality and providing moderate client interaction. The assistant will play a critical role in ensuring smooth case processing and communication flow.

Responsibilities

• Manage and organize legal documents and case files
• Coordinate scheduling and calendar management for legal proceedings
• Communicate effectively with clients and dept personnel
• Communicate effectively with consumers, debt recovery, track past due accounts
• File documents with courts and maintain accurate records
• Perform data entry and handle correspondence efficiently
• Maintain up-to-date and accessible case records
• Keep well documented notes

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience in the legal field
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Maintain confidentiality at all times
