Job Description
Our client is a high profile commercial real estate investment firm with a great reputation in the industry. They have a very friendly work environment and can offer significant potential for growth.
\n \nSalary: $130K-$150K + 15% bonus
\n \nResponsibilities Include:
\n \n- \n
- Manage the accounting function for a portfolio of Class A properties in New York and other primary markets in the US \n
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements on an accrual basis \n
- Analyze the general ledger for each property, prepare journal entries, calculate accruals and adjustments and maintain detailed workpaper files on a monthly basis \n
- Review results of operations and provide detailed explanations of variances \n
- Review invoices to ensure correct account coding and expense allocations \n
- Prepare reconciliations of all cash accounts, reserves and escrows \n
- Monitor cash balances and request capital funding, as needed \n
- Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules \n
- Calculate real estate tax and operating expense escalations \n
- Interact with asset managers, leasing agents, and property managers \n
- Assist in the resolution of tenant billing inquiries with accounts receivable and legal departments \n
- Ensure lender reporting compliance \n
- Prepare documentation for loan draws and reserve disbursements \n
- Respond to lender inquiries, as needed \n
- Compile financial information for analysts during debt refinances and/or sales of properties \n
- Prepare annual budget and reforecast \n
- Prepare real estate tax certiorari filings \n
- Serve as the main contact for annual audits and tax return preparation \n
Requirements Include:
\n \n- \n
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting \n
- Minimum of approximately 3-5+ years of experience in public accounting or private industry within the real estate industry \n
- Experience in commercial real estate \n
- Knowledge of escalations \n
- Experience preparing financial statements on an accrual basis \n
