About the Position

Job Title: RN Telemetry I Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years working in one location and 2 years working as a traveler. License: Current RN License Certifications: AHA BLS (ACLS preferred) Must-Have: Ability to read telemetry strips Description: This position is for a Med/Surg Tele RN working nights and every other weekend. Candidates must have competency in telemetry and the ability to interpret telemetry strips. The unit is a 32-bed orthopedic/neuro medical-surgical unit. This unit admits medical overflow from other areas. Patient population includes scheduled elective orthopedic and neuro/surgical patients, fractures, neuro patients, and other medical patients. The clinician to patient ratio is 1:5 or 6 on the night shift. Travelers may be required to float to applicable units when requested. Rotating shifts may be required for day positions; however, night positions do not rotate. Experience with neuro assessments is beneficial. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC.
