Senior Associate Scientist, Process Development

Senior Associate Scientist supporting process development for therapeutic vaccines and drug substances at Pfizer's Sanford, North Carolina facility. The role involves designing scale-down studies, implementing continuous process improvements, troubleshooting manufacturing processes, and serving as technical expert for manufacturing methods.
Responsibilities
- Perform process scale-down studies characterizing and supporting manufacturing of therapeutic vaccines and drug substances
- Serve as Technical Expert for manufacturing methods, conducting scientific studies and recommending process improvements
- Troubleshoot and improve established manufacturing processes for robustness and efficiency
- Design and execute studies independently, interpret data, and support product transfers and cost improvement projects
- Represent cross-functional project teams in technical writing, review, and laboratory safety compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline with 3+ years experience; or MS/MBA with any years experience
- Strong chemistry knowledge and ability to safely perform laboratory work
- Complex data analysis and technical troubleshooting proficiency
- Independent experimental planning and execution capabilities
- Proficiency with MS Office and complex laboratory instrumentation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available
Compensation: $68,600-$114,300 base salary; 7.5% bonus target
