Position Summary The Associate Manager, Category Development is responsible for developing strong customer relationships with Walmart by providing category solutions based on business trends, industry trends and category management expertise. This role will also work on developing insightful and actionable reporting, analysis and selling story presentations based on key category trends. Finally, this position will influence the line review process and be the expert in Walmart’s category as well as the key strategic partner to assist with the development of their strategies. Responsibilities As a category advisor, work closely with the Walmart merchant team to develop and grow total category sales by leveraging POS data, syndicated data, shopper and consumer insights, and category and industry trendsServe as Category / Industry Expert to customer merchant & teamLead assessment, analysis, & insight generation for customer on assigned categoriesMaintain direct account responsibility with regular ongoing customer face-to-face meetingsOwn category management / analyticsDevelop strong advisor relationshipsBe a category and thought leader with the customer to help develop category strategy based on insights and market trends and bring innovative ideas to aid in decision-makingDevelop and deliver presentationsManage the category relay and modular (planogram) building processGenerate weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting to provide insights, identify opportunities and deliver solutionsInfluence the line review process with insights and data to make recommendations on optimal assortment, planogram space allocation, and flowMay perform other duties as assigned What we are looking for Required Skills and ExperienceMinimum 2 years customer-facing Sales and/or Category Management experience (advisor preferred)BA/BS required, Marketing/Business Administration preferredOutstanding written & verbal communication skillsAnalytical mindsetExperienced in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Power Point, Access)Experience in developing & delivering compelling stories / presentationsRelationship buildingScintilla and Retail Link experience preferredProficiency in JDA space planning software preferredSyndicated Data (Nielsen or IRI) preferredProject Management / PrioritizationWorking RelationshipsCustomer (Buyer, Senior Buyer, Category Management, etc) - PrimaryReports to Sr. Manager, Category DevelopmentWorking EnvironmentTravel Requirements (up to 10%) Come join us! Total Rewards Package The salary range for this position is USD $78,000.00/Yr. - USD $97,000.00/Yr.Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
