Job Description

The Final Inspector ensures that all aircraft components and articles undergoing maintenance meet airworthiness standards before they are returned to service. This role focuses on verifying that work is completed in accordance with applicable regulations, technical data, and company procedures, while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting quality audits.

Responsibilities

• Perform final inspection of articles undergoing maintenance to determine airworthiness prior to return to service.

• Verify that all maintenance work has been completed in accordance with applicable technical data, regulations, and company procedures.

• Review and confirm the accuracy of documentation, including work orders, test data, logbooks, and engineering instructions.

• Sign return-to-service documentation as an authorized inspector, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements.

• Ensure proper traceability and certification of all parts and materials used during maintenance activities.

• Coordinate with technicians and other inspectors to resolve discrepancies, documentation issues, and nonconformances.

• Maintain current knowledge of FAA regulations, company policies, and applicable OEM and CMM documentation.

• Perform audits of work-in-progress and completed work as required by the quality system.

• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, evidence, and technical explanations as needed.

• Ensure proper handling, storage, and protection of articles throughout the maintenance and inspection process.

• Maintain inspection tools and test equipment in accordance with calibration requirements and company standards.

• Document findings, rejections, and corrective actions accurately in accordance with company quality systems and procedures.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience performing final inspection in a maintenance or repair environment.

• Strong inspection skills with the ability to assess airworthiness and compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.

• Ability to review, interpret, and verify work orders, test data, logbooks, and engineering instructions.

• Knowledge of FAA regulations and familiarity with OEM and CMM documentation relevant to maintenance and inspection.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in documenting findings, rejections, and corrective actions.

• Capability to sign return-to-service documentation as an authorized inspector in accordance with company policies.

• Understanding of traceability and certification requirements for parts and materials used in maintenance.

• Ability to support internal and external audits through thorough documentation and adherence to quality systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in inspection within an aviation, aerospace, or similar regulated environment.

• Experience coordinating with technicians and other inspectors to resolve discrepancies and documentation issues.

• Familiarity with calibration requirements for inspection tools and test equipment.

• Knowledge of proper handling, storage, and protection practices for articles under maintenance.

• Comfort working within structured quality systems and following established company procedures and policies.

The expanded building provides modern, well-organized work areas and access to calibrated inspection tools and test equipment. Work is performed in a professional shop environment with established quality systems and procedures, where proper handling, storage, and protection of articles are a core part of daily operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sarasota, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
