Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology

Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical

Full Time: 36 hours per week, 3x12 hour shifts (day or night shift, scheduled as needed) + every other weekend and holidays + 2 on-call shifts in 4 weeks.

Contract Length: 14 weeks Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Requirements:

• New York State Registered Nurse Licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification (AHA or RQI only)
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification
• One year experience in a Medical/Surgical environment as a Registered Nurse

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with medical conditions.
• Assess patient and family needs; develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families about self-care and lifestyle changes to support health and healing following hospital discharge.
• Document care provided and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.
• Promote a healing environment and ensure patient safety and rights.
• Engage in self-evaluation of practice and participate in quality improvement activities.

Compliance / Notes:

Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues.
