Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), where your clinical expertise and compassionate care make a meaningful difference. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide advanced nursing care for intermediate-acuity patients, many transitioning from intensive care, in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver expert nursing care to patients with intermediate acuity, including those on cardiac telemetry, IV infusions, and supplemental oxygen.
• Continuously assess patients for signs of clinical deterioration, promptly initiating escalation protocols or rapid response measures as needed.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams—such as physical therapy, case management, and physicians—to facilitate safe mobilization, discharge planning, and comprehensive patient needs.
• Administer medications, perform wound care, respiratory treatments, and maintain detailed documentation to ensure the highest standards of care.
• Manage a patient load of approximately 3–4 individuals per nurse, ensuring personalized and attentive care.
• Uphold hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards while demonstrating compassionate, patient-centered service.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a progressive care or similar hospital setting.
• Valid, current Compact RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• PCCN certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Demonstrated strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and excellent communication abilities.

Shift & Schedule:

• Night Shift (3x12-hour shifts): 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Day Shift (3x12-hour shifts): 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
