The unit primarily focuses on newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. The goal staffing ratio is 1:4, but it can also be 1:5 depending on unit needs. Weekend shifts are variable based on unit requirements. Travelers may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both shifts. Staff members must adhere to strict infection prevention protocols. There is a heavy focus on patient falls prevention. Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration is required. PICC line management and peripheral line care will be part of the responsibilities. Telemetry monitoring and use of rapid response teams is expected. Candidates should have experience with computerized charting systems. Candidates must be aware of compliance regarding credentialing processes. References from previous supervisors or managers are required.
