Project Management Support Specialist

Our client is building a rapidly growing PMO that supports mission-critical technology initiatives impacting colleges and students across Alabama. This is a rare opportunity to work directly alongside an experienced PMO leader, gain hands-on exposure to enterprise IT projects, and grow into a future Project Manager role while helping drive high-visibility initiatives to completion.

Compensation

• 35/hr
• Salary conversion target: $60,000-$75,000 annually

What You'll Be Doing

• Support PMO leadership across multiple enterprise IT projects.
• Track action items, tasks, and deliverables across Slack, meetings, email, and calls.
• Maintain Smartsheet project tracking and reporting.
• Document workflows, meeting notes, and project updates.
• Use AI tools, Microsoft Copilot, and Zoom for briefing generation.
• Coordinate scheduling, reporting, and PMO administrative operations.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings and follow through on action items.

What You'll Need to be Considered

• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Strong attention to detail and organizational discipline.
• Exposure to project management environments or methodologies.
• Comfortable learning and using Smartsheet, AI tools, and Microsoft Copilot.
• Experience supporting IT or technology-focused initiatives.
• Ability to create concise, accurate briefings and documentation.
• Military background or familiarity with military-style accountability is highly preferred.
