We are looking for an experienced Sr. Staff Accountant to support financial operations across multiple sites in Los Angeles, California. This position works closely with operations leaders, accounting partners, and executive stakeholders to produce accurate billing, maintain reliable financial records, and strengthen reporting quality. The ideal candidate brings strong month-end close expertise, sound general ledger knowledge, and the ability to manage contract-driven invoicing in a fast-paced service environment.

Responsibilities:
• Generate routine and one-time invoices for multiple locations, ensuring charges align with contract terms, rate schedules, and service activity.
• Examine customer agreements and supporting documentation to bill management fees, reimbursable costs, hourly work, and other contracted services accurately.
• Maintain organized billing calendars and monitor due dates to keep invoicing timely across a multi-site portfolio.
• Collaborate with operations teams and customers to investigate invoice questions, correct discrepancies, and clear outstanding billing issues.
• Review site-level financial performance each month by reconciling profit and loss activity, evaluating budget-to-actual results, and researching unusual variances.
• Prepare journal entries, account reclasses, and reconciliations to support accurate coding of revenue and expenses by location and department.
• Support accounts receivable activities by updating customer billing records, assisting with aging review, and contributing to collection follow-up efforts.
• Create transportation and special event billings based on labor, mileage, routes, equipment usage, staffing, parking operations, and other billable expenses while confirming event profitability.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including reconciliations, reporting support, audit preparation, tax support, and process improvements aimed at shortening the close timeline.• Proven experience in month-end close within an accounting environment supporting multiple operating locations.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Experience preparing contract-based invoices and managing billing schedules in a service-oriented business.
• Ability to analyze financial results, investigate variances, and ensure transactions are coded accurately.
• Familiarity with accounts receivable processes, aging analysis, and resolution of billing disputes.
• Proficiency with bank reconciliations and maintaining well-documented accounting records.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across operations, accounting, and leadership teams.
