Join us as a direct-hire CNC precision grinder in Buffalo Grove, IL, crafting small, intricate components to exacting tolerances.
- Location: Buffalo Grove, IL
- Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Compensation: $30–$34/hour DOE
Start your shift by reviewing blueprints, drawings, and engineering orders. You’ll set up grinders and other conventional shop tools, dialing in speeds, feeds, and depth of cut to meet print specs. Throughout the day, you’ll saw raw material on vertical/horizontal saws, run precision grinding operations, and verify dimensions to prescribed tolerances. As production needs shift, you may step over to CNC equipment to support throughput. You’ll wrap up by documenting results and keeping your work area clean and safe.
Core responsibilities- Operate grinders and conventional shop equipment, plus vertical/horizontal saws, to machine parts from simple to complex.
- Perform complete machine set-ups; fine-tune speeds, feeds, and depth of cut to achieve engineering requirements.
- Inspect finished parts to confirm conformance to all tolerances.
- Interpret and follow blueprints, drawings, and engineering orders.
- Operate CNC machines as needed to meet demand.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience.
- Hands-on grinding experience with small, detailed components (required).
- Associate’s degree, military technical training, or equivalent education/experience (preferred).
- Manual machining experience (preferred) and prior machine shop background (preferred).
