About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical and Oncology ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Strongly prefers candidates with a medical ICU background. Comfort with end-of-life care is a plus. Description: Position for a Medical and Oncology ICU RN. Start date is as soon as possible. Three 12-hour shifts per week. Patient ratios are 1:2. Unit accepts first-time travelers but prefers those with previous travel experience. Weekend work is required unless otherwise stated in the schedule. No call requirements. Floating within the hospital is expected. Floating to sister hospitals is not permitted. Not open to accommodating block schedules unless specified otherwise. Local candidates are accepted. Pending licenses are not accepted. RTO restrictions may apply during peak times such as November and December. The unit cares for medical and oncology ICU patients. Patients may present with conditions like adult respiratory distress syndrome, multi-system organ failure, septic shock, GI bleeding, complicated pregnancy, oncology, renal failure, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The focus is on family-centered care. Patients may be in various phases of transplant needs. Strongly prefers candidates with medical ICU experience. High end-of-life patient care needs require RN familiarity and comfort. Staffing ratios are maintained at 1:2 across all shifts, with some 1:1 scenarios as necessary. Travelers may float to other units if no ICU needs are present. Candidates must have experience with the electronic charting system. Two supervisory references are required.
