The Clinical Medical Assistant plays a critical role in supporting healthcare providers within a small team environment. This position involves a blend of clinical, administrative, and patient-focused tasks to ensure efficient and effective care delivery. The assistant reports to physicians, practice managers, or nurse supervisors and occasionally travels to Columbia, MO for work-related duties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately
• Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens
• Maintain accurate medical records and update electronic health records (EHR)
• Schedule patient appointments and manage calendars
• Educate patients on treatment plans and health maintenance
• Assist with clinical procedures and ensure infection control standards
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in clinical medical assisting
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficient in patient care, phlebotomy, and vital signs measurement
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and HIPAA compliance
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a small team
• Effective multitasking and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize daily tasks efficiently
