Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Travel Contract)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | Shift: 2:00 PM – 2:00 AM | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, and coordinate nursing care for assigned Emergency Room patients throughout the scheduled shift in collaboration with the interdisciplinary health care team
• Identify actual and potential patient needs and problems through nursing assessment to develop an organized, prioritized plan of care
• Supervise and assign patient care duties to LPNs, Nursing Assistants, and Unit Clerks based on patient acuity and staff proficiency
• Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency and life-threatening situations
• Administer medications and treatments including IV medications, blood and blood products, and patient-controlled analgesia; document assessments, interventions, and patient/family responses
• Receive and follow up on physician orders, evaluate patient outcomes, and maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control and safety policies

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid RN state license (must be active at time of assignment)
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent acute care experience in an Emergency Room setting
• Current CPR certification
• Proficiency with Meditech EHR or ability to quickly adapt to the platform
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in an Emergency Department setting
• Familiarity with medical-surgical diagnoses and treatments commonly seen in an ED environment
• Experience in a Joint Commission Accredited or Chest Pain/Stroke-certified facility
