Fund Accountant

Overview

A growing fund administration firm is seeking a Fund Accountant to join its private equity and alternative investment fund services team. This is a hands-on, client-facing opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build a career in private equity fund accounting while gaining exposure to complex fund structures, portfolio activity, financial reporting, capital activity, and investor servicing.

The role works closely with clients, investors, and auditors and offers broad exposure to the full fund accounting lifecycle. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably within private equity, partnerships, fund administration, or alternative investments, along with strong Excel skills and a high level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review capital contribution and distribution calculations.
• Calculate management fees, income allocations, and other fund-level activity.
• Prepare monthly cash reconciliations and expense schedules.
• Prepare quarterly incentive allocation models based on partnership agreements.
• Prepare quarterly and annual fund financial statements and footnotes.
• Prepare supplemental management reporting and performance metrics.
• Process investment and expense wires and prepare portfolio company invoices.
• Coordinate interim and annual audit requests and provide supporting materials.
• Coordinate investor notices for capital calls, distributions, and capital balances.
• Respond to investor inquiries in collaboration with clients.
• Manage deliverable timelines and participate in recurring client calls.
• Develop proficiency with Investran and other fund accounting and CRM systems.
