Security Associate

JOB SUMMARY As a Security Guard, you are responsible for maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for guests. This role involves monitoring Company premises, enforcing policies, responding to incidents, and providing a visible security presence while delivering excellent customer service. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Inspect properties to protect against theft, vandalism, fire, illegal access, and criminal activity Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, disturbances, or suspicious activity. Enforce company policies, safety procedures and involve local law if needed. Identify possible hazards that may endanger employees and guests Ensure company procedures and guidelines are followed to protect the safety of guests and employees Assist guest with safety related concerns in a courteous manner. Comply with ABC regulations (Alcoholic Beverage Control) Walk and engage with guests to maintain order and protect the property Inform guests of policies when it appears they may be in violation of laws, regulations, and posted notices Handle stressful situations with tact and professionalism, exercising authority when necessary Notify the manager on duty or contact the Sheriff Department directly when an emergent situation occurs Complete incident reports, logs, and daily security documentation accurately. Manage crowd control during busy periods, events or peak dining hours. Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Must be at least 18 years old Previous security, hospitality or customer service experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in high pressure situations. Basic computer and reporting skills. RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) Certificate required upon hire Exceptional customer service skills Pass pre-employment criminal background check DETAILS Position Type: Seasonal Season Dates: April-October HOUSING The Catalina Island Company offers shared housing as an option for eligible employees at a subsidized rate. Employees are responsible for paying a portion of the housing cost, typically deducted through payroll. Accommodation generally includes shared bedrooms, shared bathrooms and a community kitchen. Housing is subject to availability and cost will vary based on location. PAY TRANSPARENCY The pay scale for this position is $22.66 per hour. WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position works in a busy restaurant environment that can be warm, noisy, and fast-paced. This role involves indoor and outdoor environments. Must be comfortable and able to stand for up to 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Requires dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, management and team. SCHEDULE This position requires a flexible schedule, with rotating weekday and weekend shifts, including day, night, and holiday hours.
