To continue to perform and grow our traffic design services in North Carolina, Mott MacDonald is expanding our Traffic Engineering team. With a significant backlog of work, we are searching for a Traffic Engineer with NCDOT traffic signals experience and knowledge. This role is based in our Raleigh, NC office.Responsibilities of the position will include, but may not be limited to:Provide project and technical leadership in Traffic EngineeringDemonstrate thorough understanding of traffic engineering principles required to complete projects for clients in the southeastern US regionProvide input and responsibility on a wide range of transportation projectsDemonstrated the ability to direct and coordinate work with subject matter experts and consultants to meet schedulesAssign, review, and evaluate project deliverables for quality and consistency with project scopeDeliver technical projects and reportsWe invite applications from candidates with the following experience:BS (Civil) Engineering, or equivalentProfessional registration preferred (not required)Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) a plus5+ years’ experience in Traffic & Transportation Engineering preferredSignal design, signal timing plan development, signing plan development, ITS and/or traffic control experience a plusExcellent verbal communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent written communication skills and attention to detailExperience or training in computer applications and operations (Microsoft Office, MicroStation (ORD and/or V8i), etc.)Bring your expertise, curiosity, and drive to make a difference.
